FLYING MOUTON
NEW ZEALAND
Early settlers were baffled by the cumulus cloud formations likeness to the sheep that grazed their land and often referred to the clouds as
“ FLYING SHEEP”,
Mouton (Moo-Ton) means Sheep in french
On particularly hot days ( after a vino or two) , you can still see the sheep floating in the skies over the vineyard
FLYING MOUTON WINES
Flying mouton produces a range of single estate wines made exclusively from grapes grown at Osawa Vineyard.
Consistently warm days and cooler-than average nights brought on by the nearby Kaweka ranges, conspire to produce wines of remarkably purity and intensity.
Soils in the region are renowned for their diversity and we have used to our advantage when pairing the right land with each unique variety.
The Flying Mouton range includes sauvignon blanc, pinot noir, chardonnay, gewurztraminer, cabernet merlot and pinot gris
